First global and first European patient successes

Three NIHR specialties recently achieved a first global or first European patient: 

Ophthalmology (First Global and First European - North Thames)
Children (First Global - North West London)
Cancer (First Global North West London and First European West of England). 

Recruiting a first global or first European patient is a key performance indicator for the global life-sciences industry in clinical research delivery as it shows the Network can support the rapid set-up and recruitment of studies.
